AAP and Hindi Movies !!!

A large section of non movie lovers are of the opinion that “Filmwale toh kuch bhi dikhate hai” and “Movies specially Hindi Movies have no connect with reality”. I beg to differ.

    Now Picture This :

A Boy truly loves a Girl and wants to marry her, the girl’s guardians (how long will girls need to be guarded, that’s also a question) in the form of Parents/ Siblings / Other Relatives etc do not subscribe to the thought and feels the relationship is harmful for the girl and in the best interest of the girl it should not be allowed to see the light of the day and subsequently the girl either willingly or unwillingly follows suit.
Reason : They don’t TRUST the Boy
Result : Anybody’s guess, either catastrophe happens or the boy proves everyone wrong and achieves everything in life apart from the girl, and now all who were against him either are scared of him and stay away or fall in line.
Role of Films : Several Films and especially Hindi Films have been made on this story line and still continue to be made, even though we tom tom the fact that we are in the 21st Century and belong to the Y-Generation. Even in 2013 films like “Chennai Express” to last week’s release “R…Rajkumar” is based on this ghisi piti subject.
The Truth The truth is that this ghisi piti subject is actually such a prevalent issue even today that there are dimes and dozens of such cases either reported or not reported by the Media, which keeps happening throughout the country on a daily basis. (Only an Arushi Talwar case comes out in the limelight, because the Media decides to back it for whatever reasons)

    Now Picture This :

A Genuine Filmmaker truly in love with Cinema wants to make the type of Films he believes in. The Guardians of the Film Industry (how long will the Film Industry need to be guarded, that’s also a question) in the form of Exhibitors/ Distributors/ Producers do not subscribe to the thought and feels the film will not have an Audience and should not be allowed to see the light of the day and subsequently the Film is never made/ made and never released and the Film and the Filmmaker bites the dust.
Reason : They don’t TRUST the Filmmaker
Result : Anybody’s guess, either catastrophe happens or the Filmmaker proves everyone wrong and achieves what he had set out to do, makes the film and releases the film, and now all who were against him either are scared of him and stay away or fall in line.
Role of Films : Several Films and especially Hindi Films have been made on this story line and still continue to be made. Even in 2012 my film “Chal Pichchur Banate Hain” was based on this ghisi piti subject.
The Truth The truth is that this ghisi piti subject is actually such a prevalent issue even today that there are dimes and dozens of such cases mostly not reported by the Media, which keeps happening throughout the country on a daily basis. (Only a Chittagong or Lunchbox case comes out in the limelight, because the Media decides to back it for whatever reasons)

    Now Picture This :

An Honest Man or a Group of Honest Men want to make their country a better place to live in, the Country’s guardians (how long will the Country need to be guarded, that’s also a question) in the form of Political Parties/ Bureaucracy / Business Community etc do not subscribe to the thought and feels the exercise is harmful for the Country and the Country’s Political System and in the best interest of the Country the Honest People should not be allowed to propagate their theories and subsequently the country’s residents either willingly or unwillingly follow suit.
Reason : They don’t TRUST the Honest Men
Result : Anybody’s guess, either catastrophe happens or the Group of Honest Men proves everyone wrong and achieves what they had set out for and now all who were against THEM either are scared of THEM and stay away or fall in line.
Role of Films : Several Films and especially Hindi Films have been made on this story line and still continue to be made. Films like “Rang De Basanti”, “Nayak”, “Satyagraha” and several others are based on this ghisi piti subject.
The Truth The truth is that this ghisi piti subject is actually such a prevalent issue even today that the AAM AADMI PARTY headed by Arvind Kejriwal has actually won 28 seats in the recent Assembly Elections of Delhi and might well prove to be a Major Force in changing the Political System of India and the country’s collective MINDSET on a whole.

So basically “Filmwale joh kuch bhi dikhate hai usmein kuch toh sachchayee hoti hai” and “Movies specially Hindi Movies have at least some connect with reality” and maybe that’s why movie lovers still go and watch Movies with the TRUST that they will not only be Entertained but also might see the reflection of some reality somewhere in the film.

According to my perspective, myself and my Movies are both Idealistic and Realistic and through this platform I invite all other like minded Filmmakers/ Would be Filmmakers to join hands and get associated with Ascent Films so that we all can make the Films we want to make and prove the so called guardians wrong.

If any Filmmaker / Would Be Filmmaker / Film Investor want to get in touch with me, he can directly write to me at ascentpc@gmail.com

Also just an anecdote, I and my Father have both applied for Membership in the AAM AADMI PARTY today with the hope that we also can contribute in our own small way to a Better India, a Cleaner India, a New India!!!

Cheers !!!
Mangal Ho !!!
