Hi Pritish (ji), while searching for something on net I came across your blog. I dont know how old are you. Becasue in the field of art unlike corporate world we should always attach high respect in all ways to elders irrespective of the fact if they are sensible or not. In art field it is not considered good to even comment on your seniors-quite unlike corporate. Well..ignore my ideas if you are in 30’s or above. Experienced guys are right mostly was the concept in 70’s in corporate (US) and today there is no such rule-what is sensible is right because the market is matured and sensible things (or atleast marketing sensibly) can only make business. In the field of Indian (Hindi) TV that era has yet to come. With more experimentations happening in Hindi Films there is atleast some new trend going on otherwise films like Black, Tare Zameen Par, Life in a metro etc. would have not done well both at Box office and at the same time in critics’ views. People like me never watch TV because there is nothing worth watching inspite of the fact that I crave to watch pieces of art and healthy entertainment at work! It is hard to stand even 15 minutes of any serial! Plus the irritating commercial breaks! After reading your blog I feel so impressed to see that there are a few intelligent minds.I just want to say that collective group of people like you can surely provide quality art, asthetics and make business at the same time. True sense of art with crazy intelligence like yours can definitely make it. There is already a segment of audience that is awaiting for such fine pieces of work. And this segment of audience has more money, is mostly young and is more influencial than the target audience for whom the current day TV works for. Though volume-wise this new segment of audience may be very very small today..But the future promises for a lot more. All those (real) creative minds who are investing their hard work for that day are going to rule the media, next. Change is the name of the game.
